tuesday-johnson:

Hey all! I know this isn’t history related, but it’s super important and very very pressing. My girlfriend and I found this cat two night ago, underfed and not neutered. —And he needs a home right now.
He’s super friendly, loves people, is calm and low-key. He rolls over and lets your rub his belly and enjoys curling up on laps. Legitimately, this is the sweetest cat I’ve ever met. Good with kids and adults alike—just a gentle spirit all around. We took him into the ACCT to be neutered, vaccinated and tested.
We were all ready to bring him home today when we got the devastating news that he tested positive for FIV, sort of like the feline equivalent of HIV. The shelter said they’re going to put him down because he poses a risk to other cats.
Because I have two healthy cats of my own and the FIV vaccine we would have used was recently taken off the market, the shelter claims he now has no where to go. He’s perfectly healthy right now, but might require a bit more love in the future. However, he also is capable of living a long healthy life, as well.
Please, please! If any of you guys knows someone in the Philadelphia area who doesn’t have a pet but has been interested in owning a beautiful, INDOOR cat, please contact me or the ACCT of Philadelphia (267)385-3800 ASAP. If you adopt him into your home, he will be neutered and vaccinated for all other diseases FOR FREE; I’ll provide a litter box and food, too. His shelter name is PRANKS and you could refer to him by that.
Please spread the word, I’m not sure how long he has. He will die if he doesn’t find a home.
